The first thing we should do to find the value of 'x' in this expression is to expand the product with the parenthesis in the left side:


\begin{gathered} 3x+2\left(4x-4\right)=3 \\ 3x+8x-8=3 \end{gathered}

Then, we need to isolate all terms with 'x' in the left side and all terms without 'x' in the right side. Then, we can isolate the variable 'x' and find its value:


\begin{gathered} 3x+8x=3+8 \\ 11x=11 \\ x=(11)/(11)=1 \end{gathered}

So we have that the value of x is 1.
