\begin{gathered} \text{ An exponential function f of the form} \\ f(x)=a^(kn) \\ \text{ Where }a>0 \end{gathered}

Is an exponential growth function if k > 0

or

an exponential decay function k < 0

In our case, k = 1,

therefore, f(x) is an exponential growth function
