The length of a rectangle is 3 centimeters longer than the width. The perimeter of the rectangle is less than 15cm. Figure out the inequality and solve.

we have the following:


\begin{gathered} l=3+w \\ 15>2\cdot l+2\cdot w \\ 15>2\cdot(3+w)+2\cdot w \\ 15>6+2w+2w \\ 15-6>4w \\ 4w<9 \\ w<(9)/(4) \end{gathered}

therfore, the answer is:


\begin{gathered} l=3+(9)/(4)=5.25 \\ w<(9)/(4)<2.25 \end{gathered}
