Answer

Width of the parking lot = 4 miles

Step-by-step explanation

The area of a rectangle is given as

Area = L × W

where

L = Length of the rectangle = (1/6) mile

W = Width of the rectangle = ?

Area = (2/3) square miles

Area = L × W

(2/3) = (1/6) × W

\begin{gathered} (2)/(3)=(1)/(6)* W \\ (2)/(3)=(W)/(6) \\ \text{Cross multiply} \end{gathered}

3W = (2)(6)

3W = 12

Divide both sides by 3

(3W/3) = (12/3)

W = 4 miles

Hope this Helps!!!
