Weight of an adult crocodile, A=2200 pounds.

Wieght of a young crocodile, Y=157 pounds.

The pounds that is to be gained by the young crocodile is,


\begin{gathered} W=A-Y \\ W=2200-157=2043\text{ pounds} \end{gathered}

Therefore, the young crocodile is expected to gain 2043 punds more in his lifetime.
