We have the following:

Now we are going to calculate the area of each square and then we add each block and thus we calculate the total area:


\begin{gathered} S_1=40\cdot40=1600 \\ S_2=16\cdot24=384 \\ S_3=16\cdot40=640 \end{gathered}

Therefore:


\begin{gathered} S_T=S_1+S_2+S_3=1600+384+640 \\ S_T=2624 \end{gathered}

The answer is 2624 square foot
