Step 1:

Write the slope formula in terms of rise and run.

Step 2:

Draw the line of rise and run

Pick two points where the line meet the vertical and the horizontal

Step 3


\begin{gathered} \text{Slope = }\frac{rise}{\text{run}} \\ \text{Slope = }(6)/(12) \\ \text{Slope = }(1)/(2) \end{gathered}
