Given:

\begin{gathered} x+2y=11 \\ 2x-3y=-20 \end{gathered}

Find: the ordered pair

Explanation:

\begin{gathered} x+2y=11..............................(1) \\ 2x-3y=-20.........................(2) \end{gathered}

multiply equation (1) by 2

\begin{gathered} 2x+4y=22 \\ 2x-3y=-20 \\ -\text{ + +} \\ 7y=42 \\ y=6 \\ x+2*6=11 \\ x=11-12 \\ x=-1 \end{gathered}

the ordered pair is (-1,6).

Final answer: the ordered pair will be (-1,6).
