Using the slope-point formula for the equation of a line we get:


y-1=-(1)/(2)(x-(-4))\text{.}

Taking the above equation to its slope-intercept form we get:


\begin{gathered} y-1=-(1)/(2)(x+4), \\ y-1=-(1)/(2)x-(4)/(2), \\ y-1=-(1)/(2)x-2, \\ y=-(1)/(2)x-1. \end{gathered}

Answer:


y=-(1)/(2)x-1.
