The transversal EF has effectively created corresponding and alternate angles along both parallel lines.

Also angle EGB and angle BGH equals 180, (Angles on a straight line sum up to 180 degrees). Therefore;

EGB + BGH = 180

130 + BGH = 180

BGH = 180 - 130

BGH = 50

Note also that angle BGH and angle CHE are alternate angles. Alternate angles are equal, therefore angle CHE is 50. Hence;


\begin{gathered} 6x+14=50 \\ 6x=50-14 \\ 6x=36 \\ x=(36)/(6) \\ x=6 \end{gathered}
