We have the next formula for the volume of a cone

$V=(\pi r^2h)/(3)$

we have

d=diameter

r=radius

h=height

V=volume

d=17 ft

r=17/2=8.5 ft

V=190.07 cubic feet

we clear the height

$h=(3V)/(\pi r^2)$

then we substitute the values given

$h=(3(190.07))/(\pi(8.5)^2)=2.51ft$
