Formula for the Volume of rectangular prism:

$\begin{gathered} V=l\cdot w\cdot h; \\ l\text{ is long} \\ w\text{ is width} \\ h\text{ is high} \end{gathered}$

They ask you solve the expresion for w, that means that you have to find a expression like w=?

To do that, you should be move l and w to the other side of equation...

Start moving l,

Exactly, multiply.. the pass to other side to do the oposite operation.. in this case divide..like this..

$(V)/(l)=w\cdot h$

we do the same with h.. and thats all.. then we take:

$(V)/(l\cdot h)=w$

or the same

$w=(V)/(l\cdot h)$

That's your answer
