Answer:

(2,1/2)

Explanation:

3x - 2y = 5 and x + 2y = 3

firstly isolate x on the second equation

==> x + 2y = 3

==> x = -2y + 3

now we substitute -2y + 3 for x into the other equation

==> 3x - 2y = 5

substitute and solve for y

==> 3(-2y +3) - 2y = 5

==> -6y + 9 - 2y = 5

==> -8y + 9 = 5

==> -8y = -4

==> y = 1/2

Now we substitute the value of y into one of the equations and solve for x

==> x + 2y = 3

==> y = 1/2

==> x +2(1/2) = 3

==> x + 1 = 3

==> x = 2

the solution is (2,1/2)
