You have to determine how many cups correspond to 14 fluid oz.

To do so you have to use the equivalency between both unit measures.

We know that one cup is equal to 8 fluid oz, use cross multiplication to determine the equivalency for 14 fluid oz

If 8 fluid oz → 1 cup

Then 14 fluid oz → x cups

Both corresponding measures have to be at the same rate so that:

(1)/(8)=(x)/(14)

From this expression, you can determine the value of x by multiplying both sides of it by 14

\begin{gathered} 14((1)/(8))=14\cdot(x)/(14) \\ 1.75=x \end{gathered}

This means that 14 fluid oz are equivalent to 1.75 cups, or expressed as a fraction 7/4 cups
