When planning her crops, farmer Julie knows that her 25 acres can support oranges and pears. She wants to make $7,500 from her crips. She can make $2,050 per acre of oranges (the variable o) and 2,000 per acre of pears (the variable p) which equation below would be a constraint in her system of equations

Given:

25 acres for oranges and pears

7,500 earnings from her crops

2,050 per acre of oranges

2,000 per acre of pears

o = oranges ; p = pears

o + p = 25

2,050o + 2,000p = 7,500

The constraints in her system of equation would be:

o + p = 25

because 25 acres is the maximum measure of land that Farmer Julie can plant on.
