Given:

Total amount of plant food bought= 4½ kg

Amount used on strawberry = 1⅔ kg

Amount used on tomato plants = ⅙ kg

Amount left over = 2⅔ kg

Since he wants to feed his strawberry plants 2 more times and tomato plants one more time, let's find the amount he will need.

\text{Amount n}eeded\text{= (}1(2)/(3)+1(2)/(3))+((1)/(6))

Convert 1⅔ to improper fraction:

\begin{gathered} \text{Total = }(5)/(3)+(5)/(3)+(1)/(6) \\ \\ \text{Total = }(10+10+1)/(6) \\ \\ \text{Total = }(21)/(6) \\ \\ \text{Total = }(7)/(2) \\ \\ \text{Total = 3}(1)/(2) \end{gathered}

Therefore, he will need 3½ kg of plant food.

Since the amount of plant food left over (2⅔ kg) is less than the amount of plant food he will need (3½ kg), he does not have enough left to do so.

ANSWER:

He will need 3½ kg of plant food.

No, he does not have enough to do so.
