The lateral area of the cone is 10.4pi inches squared. the radius is 1.3 in. find the slant height.

Given the following:

lateral area = 10.4pi inches squared

radius = 1.3 in

We are to find the slant height.

Using the Lateral area of a con formula:

Lateral Area = πrl

LA = 10.4π

r = 1.3

10.4π = 1.3πv * l

making l the subject of formua

l = 10.4π/1.3π

The π cancels out.

l = 10.4/1.3

l = 8 in
