we have that

The area of the blue region is equal to the area of the complete circle minus the area of the interior rectangle

so

Step 1

Find out the area of the complete circle

A=\pi\cdot r^2

where

r=6 in

substitute

\begin{gathered} A=\pi\cdot6^2 \\ A=113.10\text{ in2} \end{gathered}

step 2

Find out the area of the rectangle

A=(7)*(5)

A=35 in2

therefore

the area of the blue region is

A=113.10-35

A=78.10 in2
