1) Considering those trigonometric ratios, we can write:


\begin{gathered} \sec (x)-\tan (x) \\ (1)/(\cos(x))-(\sin (x))/(\cos (x)) \\ (1-\sin (x))/(\cos (x)) \\ \end{gathered}

2) Since the secant is 1 over the cosine and the tangent is sine over the cosine, we can rewrite that expression as


(1-\sin (x))/(\cos (x))

3) And that's the answer
