You are watching a 30-second video in which the process of mitosis (in a HeLa cell) is observed. Do you think this represents the actual time this process requires? Explain your reasoning.

Mitosis is composed of 5 phases: prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase and cytokinesis. These are complex processes in which the chromosomes of the cell must gradually condense, align and separate, finally splitting the original cell into 2 daughter cells. Since these stages require the participation of many biomolecules in various biochemical processes, the process does not take 30 seconds, but several hours.
