We have the following number is scientific notation:


32.4*10^2

In order to obtain the value, we must move the decimal point 2 places to the right and get


3240

Then, the answer for part a is: 3240

Part B

Lets multiply 32.4 by 10^2. It yields,


(32.4)(10^2)=3240

then, we can note that,

- A. The digit 2 increases in value from 2 ones to 2 hundreds and,

- C. The digit 3 shifts 2 places to the left, fron the tens place to the thousands place
