1) To calculate how many pictures there are on the red photo album, you have to multiply the number of pictures per page by the number of pages on the album, so


\operatorname{Re}d=9\cdot15=135

You can split "15" into two numbers 10 and 5 and write the product as follows:


9(10+5)=135

And distribute the multiplication, i.e. multiply each number inside the parentheses by 9:


(9\cdot10)+(9\cdot5)=135

As you can see the result is the same for all three forms because they express the same calculation.

The first option can be used to calculate the number of pictures in the red album.

To calculate the number of pictures in the blue photo album, you have to multiply the number of pictures per page by the number of pages in the album, so


\text{Blue}=8\cdot16=128

As before, you can split "16" into two numbers, 10 and 6, and write the product as follows:


8(10+6)=128

You can also distribute the multiplication and write the calculation as follows:


(8\cdot10)+(8\cdot6)=128

The second expression can be used to calculate the number of pictures in the blue album.
