Solution:

The general equation of a line in slope-intercept form is given below as

y=mx+c

The equation of the line given is

x+4y=8

Concept:

We will make y the subject of the formula

\begin{gathered} x+4y=8 \\ 4y+x-x=8-x \\ substract\text{ x from both sides} \\ 4y+x-x=8-x \\ 4y=8-x \\ divide\text{ bpoth sides by 4} \\ (4y)/(4)=-(x)/(4)+8 \\ y=-(1)/(4)x+2 \end{gathered}

Hence,

The equation of the line in slope-intercept form is

\Rightarrow y=-(1)/(4)x+2
