If Tori were to wrap up the whole box, that would give us the area of all the six surfaces. That is surface area.

This is a rectangular prism. The surface area of a rectangular prism is given by:

SA=2lw+2lh+2wh_{}

Where

SA is surface area

l is length

w is width

h is height

Looking at the figure, it is given:

l = 14

w = 10

h = 8

We have:

\begin{gathered} SA=2(14)(10)+2(14)(8)+2(10)(8) \\ SA=280+224+160 \\ SA=664 \end{gathered}

First answer choice is right, 664 sq. in.
