Agelasticus thilius is a bird found in Latin America, specifically in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay.
It lives in aquatic environments with well-developed vegetation.
It feeds on insects and aquatic invertebrates or seeds, so in trophic networks it would be found as a primary consumer (when it feeds on seeds) or secondary consumer (when it feeds on insects and invertebrates), it should be noted that in trophic chains it would be considered as a secondary consumer. Due to the above, it is not considered a carnivore as such, since it would be classified as an omnivore.
