The slope of a line passing through the points

Notice that the line passes through the points (0,0) and (7,350)

The slope of a line is calculated using:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Hence the slope is:

\begin{gathered} m=(350-0)/(7-0) \\ m=(350)/(7) \\ m=50 \end{gathered}

Therefore the slope is 50 miles/hour

Therefore for each hour the distance increases 50 miles
