The given expression : 2x + 3 = 5

Absolute of (2x + 3 = 5)

Apply the absolue bar:

|2x+3|=5

For negtaive part:

-( 2x + 3) = 5

For positive part:

2x + 3 = 5

Solve the negative part:

-( 2x + 3 ) = 5

-2x - 3 = 5

-2x = 5 + 3

-2x = 8

x = (-4)

Solve the positive part:

(2x + 3) = 5

2x + 3 = 5

2x = 5 - 3

2x = 2

x = 1

So, the two possible values of x are x = (-4), 1

Answer : x = (-4), x = 1
