SOLUTION:

The area of a semicircle is half that of a circle, it is given by the formula;

(\pi r^2)/(2)

Here, d = 10 and therefore r = 5. The area is;

A=(\pi*5^2)/(2)=(25\pi)/(2)=12.5\pi

Therefore, the area is;

\begin{gathered} 12.5\pi\text{ }units^2 \\ \\ or \\ \\ 39.25\text{ }units^2\text{ } \end{gathered}
