we have the equation of the line

y=(1)/(4)x+2

step 1

Find out the y-intercept (value of y when the value of x is zero)

so

For x=0

\begin{gathered} y=(1)/(4)(0)+2 \\ y=2 \end{gathered}

the y-intercept is the point (0,2)

step 2

Find out the x-intercept (value of x when the value of y is zero)

so

For y=0

\begin{gathered} 0=(1)/(4)x+2 \\ (1)/(4)x=-2 \\ x=-8 \end{gathered}

the x-intercept is the point (-8,0)
