A percentage is a fraction that has a denominator of 100. The percentage formula to determine x% of y is

x\%\text{ of y=}(x)/(100)\cdot y

1. 10% of 75

\begin{gathered} =(10)/(100)\cdot75 \\ =(75)/(10) \\ =7.5 \end{gathered}

2. 1% of 75

\begin{gathered} =(1)/(100)\cdot75 \\ =0.75 \end{gathered}

3. 0.1% of 75

\begin{gathered} =(0.1)/(100)\cdot75 \\ =0.075 \end{gathered}

4. 0.5% of 75

\begin{gathered} =(0.5)/(100)\cdot75 \\ =0.375 \end{gathered}
