(-2,-5),(4,4) in slope intercept form please

Point 1 =(x1,y1)= (-2,-5)

Point 2 =(x2,y2)= (4,4)

Slope intercept form:

y=mx+b

Where

m= slope

b= y-intercept

Apply the slope formula:


m=\text{ }((y2-y1))/((x2-x1))

Replacing:


m=\text{ }(4-(-5))/(4-(-2))=(4+5)/(4+2)=(9)/(6)=(3)/(2)

So far:

y= 3/2x+b

replace x,y by the coordinates of 1 point (4,4), and solve for b:

4= 3/2(4)+b

4= 6+b

4-6 = b

-2 =b

Final expression:

y= 3/2x-2
