Total length of wood needed = 42 feet

Convert feet to yards

1 feet = 0.333333 yards

42 feet = 14 yards

He has 11 2/3 yards.

How many more yards of wood does he need?

= 14 yards - 11 2/3 yards

= 14 - 35/3

= (42-35)/3

= 7/3

= 2 1/3 yards

He needs 2 1/3 yards more yards of wood
