Then, we use the slope intercept formula:


y=mx+b

where:

m=slope

b=y-intercept

We also note that the y-intercept is where the corresponding x-coordinate always zero. As we can see on the given table, x equals zero when y=-2, so the y-intercept is -2.

We plug in m=4 and b=-2 into y=mx+b:
