evaluate the Y-intercept in this equation in standard form. x - 3y= -9 I've done this before but can't find it in my notes and don't remember how.

The first step to determine the y-intercept is to isolate the y-variable on the left side.

\begin{gathered} x-3y=-9 \\ -3y=-9-x \\ y=(x)/(3)+3 \end{gathered}

The y-intercept is the isolated number, in this case, 3.
