Average house uses 6 bags per household, but each bag weighs 2 pounds

This implies each household uses 6 x 2 = 12 pounds per month

The US populaion is 309 million

Since 2 people lives in each household, then the number of household is

309/2 = 154.5 million household

Number of pounds of sugar that the US consume per month =

154.5 million x 12

=1854 000 000 pounds

Therefore, the US consume 1854million pounds of Sugar per month.
