To solve the equation

y - 2.30 = 1.15(x-2)

you will first open the parenthesis

The equation becomes

y - 2.30 = 1.15x -2.3

add 2.3 to both-side of the equation

y - 2.30 + 2.30 =1.15x -2.3+ 2.3

y= 1.15x

or

y -1.15x = 0
