Use the formula below to find the surface area of the square pyramid in the image,


\begin{gathered} A=l^2+2(l*h) \\ l\rightarrow\text{ length of a side of the square} \\ h\rightarrow\text{ slant height of one of the triangular lateral faces} \end{gathered}

Therefore, in our case,


\begin{gathered} l=16,h=13 \\ \Rightarrow A=16^2+2*16*13=672 \end{gathered}

Thus, the answer is 672in^2
