We must find the x- and y-incerpt of the line given by the following equation:


y=0.005x-0.15.

a) The x-intercept is an (x,y) point with y = 0, we must find the value of x equalling the equation of the line to zero, doing that and solving for x, we get:


\begin{gathered} 0=0.005x-0.15, \\ 0.005x=0.15, \\ x=(0.15)/(0.005)=30. \end{gathered}

So the x-intercept is (30,0).

The y-intercept is an (x,y) point with x = 0, we find the value of y replacing x = 0 in the equation of the line, we get:


y=0.005\cdot0-0.15=-0.15.

So the y-intercept is (0,-0.15).

b) To graph the line of the equation, we mark the coordinates of the x- and y-intercept points, and then we draw a line connecting the points:
