given the piecewise function shown in the graph:

there are two lines and both of them has a positive slope, because the angle between the lines and the x-axis is acute (less than 90)

So,

And it is better to calculate the function for each one of them:

for the line in the interval :


x\ge3

The line is passing with the points ( 3 , 2 )

so, the function of the given line is (x - 1)

and for the interval x < 3

the line passing with the points (2 , 0 ) and (0 , -2)

so, the slope = Rise/Run = ( 0 - -2)/(2 - 0) = 1

And y-intercept = -2

so, the function of the line is (x - 2 )

So, the answer is option C
