We have the next system of equations

\begin{gathered} 2x+3y=15 \\ x-3y=3 \end{gathered}

In order to solve the system of equations by elimination, we need to sum the equations

2x+x+3y+(-3y)=15+3

then we sum like terms

3x=18

then we isolate the x

x=(18)/(3)=6

x=6

Then we substitute the value of x in the second equation

\begin{gathered} x-3y=3 \\ 6-3y=3 \\ \end{gathered}

then we isolate the y

\begin{gathered} -3y=3-6 \\ -3y=-3 \\ y=(-3)/(-3) \\ y=1 \end{gathered}

The solution of the system of equation is

x=6

y=1
