Solution

Given the circle as shown below,

diameter = 10.2


\begin{gathered} \text{radius }=\text{ diameter/2} \\ r=(d)/(2)=(10.2)/(2)=5.1in \end{gathered}

Area of a circle = πr²

where π = 3.14


\begin{gathered} A=\pi r^2 \\ A=3.14(5.1)^2 \\ A=3.14(26.01) \\ A=81.67in^2 \end{gathered}

Therefore the area of the circle = 81.67in²
