\begin{gathered} D=RT \\ \Rightarrow\text{ RT=D} \\ \text{Dividing both sides by R } \\ \Rightarrow(RT)/(R)=(D)/(R) \\ \Rightarrow T=(D)/(R) \\ \text{If D=40, and r=8,} \\ \text{then} \\ T=(40)/(8)=5s \end{gathered}

Therefore, the time is 5s
