(4b-8)/(3)=2b

Multiply both sides by 3:


\begin{gathered} 3*((4b-8)/(3))=3*2b \\ 4b-8=6b \end{gathered}

subtract 4b from both sides:


\begin{gathered} 4b-8-4b=6b-4b \\ -8=2b \end{gathered}

divide both sides by 2:


\begin{gathered} (2b)/(2)=-(8)/(2) \\ b=-4 \end{gathered}
