The slope of a line is defined as

Slope, sometimes referred to as gradient in mathematics, is a number that measures the steepness and direction of a line, or a section of a line connecting two points, and is usually denoted by m.

That is

Given two points on a lline


(x_1,y_1),(x_2,y_2)_{}

The slope will be calculated using


m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)
