In order to factor this polynomial by grouping, we need to factor the elements two by two, using the common values between each pair of elements.

We can do the following steps to factor the polynomial:


\begin{gathered} mn+4n+6m+24 \\ =(mn+4n)+(6m+24) \\ =n(m+4)+6(m+4) \\ =(n+6)(m+4) \end{gathered}

Therefore the factored polynomial is (n + 6)(m + 4).
