In the image above angles in blue are corresponding angles, angles in red are also corresponding angles.

Corresponding angles have the same measure.

The sum of an angle in blue and an angle in red is 180° (form a straight line)

Then, the sum of the two given angles is 180:

4x-30+x=180

Use the equation above to solve x:

\begin{gathered} 5x-30=180 \\ \\ \text{Add 30 in both sides of the equation:} \\ 5x-30+30=180+30 \\ 5x=210 \\ \\ \text{Divide both sides of the equation into 5:} \\ (5)/(5)x=(210)/(5) \\ \\ x=42 \end{gathered}

Having the value of x=42 you can find the measure of angle (4x-30):

4x-30=4(42)-30=168-30=138

I think I know what to do I just don’t know if I need to solve the 4x-30 or what-example-1
