Solution

It take 3/4 of a minute -------> 1 lap

\begin{gathered} 1hr=60min \\ x=1min \\ x=(1)/(60)hr \end{gathered}

3/4 of a minute = 3/4 x 60 = 45secons

Therefore

1 lap = 45 seconds

1/2 hour = 30 min

30 min = 30 x 60 seconds

= 1800 seconds

since

\begin{gathered} 1\text{ lap = 45 second} \\ x=1800\text{ second} \\ x=\text{ 1800/45} \\ x=40lap \end{gathered}

Hence the answer = 40 laps
