Approximately 16.28 cm

1) We can sketch out this triangle to better figure out:

2) So now, let's resort to the Pythagorean Relation:


\begin{gathered} a^2=b^2+c^2 \\ a^2=11^2+12^2 \\ a^2=121+144 \\ a^2=265 \\ a=√(265) \\ a\approx16.28 \end{gathered}

Note that the hypotenuse is always on the left, in the Pythagorean Theorem.
