In order to calculate the length of segment EF, we can use the formula of the distance between two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2):

d=\sqrt[]{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

Since the coordinates of E are (-3, 1) and F are (-1, -2), we have:

\begin{gathered} d_(EF)=\sqrt[]{(-1-(-3))^2+(-2-1)^2_{}} \\ d_(EF)=\sqrt[]{(2)^2+(-3)^2} \\ d_(EF)=\sqrt[]{4+9} \\ d_(EF)=\sqrt[]{13} \\ d_(EF)=3.6 \end{gathered}

So the length of EF is 3.6 units.
