You are the pilot of an airplane delivering passengers, mail, andfood.- The plane has a total payload capacity (total weight ofpassengers and cargo) of 10,000 pounds.- Your co-pilot weighs 195 pounds.- The food weighs 500 pounds.- The mail weighs 100 pounds.- The total weigh of the 10 passengers onboard is 2000 pounds.- The total weigh of the luggage is 400 pounds.Write and solve an equation to find C, the weight capacity of morefood to carry on the plane that will not exceed the payloadcapacity. Include your weight since you are flying the plane.

The total total payload capacity is 10,000 pounds, which means that the sum of all the weight inside the plane must add up at maximum 10,000. The co-pilot weighs 195 pounds, the food weighs 500 pounds, the mail weighs 100 pounds, the total weigh of the 10 passengers onboard is 2000 pounds, the total weigh of the luggage is 400 pounds, and adding your weight since you're the pilot, that's an extra 175 pounds. Adding all those values together and subtracting from the total payload, will give to us how much we can still add without exceding the weight capacity.

C=10,000-(195+500+100+2000+400+175)

Solving this expression, we have

\begin{gathered} C=10,000-(195+500+100+2000+400+175) \\ C=10,000-3,370 \\ C=6,630 \end{gathered}

The plane can still carry an extra weight of 6,630 pounds.
